Death and sadness are inevitable aspects of life. However, none of us are ever truly prepared to handle them. During these times, the love and support of family and friends become absolutely vital. This support can take many forms, such as visiting the bereaved, spending time with them, cooking for them, offering advice on burial preparations, running errands, or simply being there for them.
ESWA prides itself on providing support to its members in both good and sad times. When our Financial Secretary, Mrs. Ngozi Okolo, recently lost her husband, we rallied together from Day 1 and we attended the wake ceremony in large numbers. Although the burial ceremony took place in Nigeria, our thoughts and prayers were with our sister and her family throughout the entire process.
At the ESWA June meeting, her first since the death and burial of her husband, Sister Ngozi expressed her heartfelt gratitude to ESWA:
“I want to show my appreciation for the way my ESWA sisters supported me during my recent bereavement. I felt loved, supported, and cared for. I was visited, not left alone, fed, gifted money and advice. Thank you all and God’s blessings.”
ESWA humbly thanks God for giving our sister the strength to pull through this very difficult time and for the safe journey of her and her family members to and from Nigeria for the burial ceremony. We also thank God for the life and peaceful transition of Mr. Vincent Emeka Okolo. May his soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed rest in perfect peace. Amen. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
