The Power of Sisterhood: A Joy Shared at ESWA

It is an unwise person who claims to know everything and believes they don’t need advice or support from others. At ESWA, we are certainly not that person. We recognize the importance of external guidance.

No matter how smart or capable one may be, there’s always value in seeking advice or a second opinion. After all, uche ofu onye anaghi ezuru ya — one person’s wisdom is not enough.

That’s why we were delighted to welcome a distinguished guest at our September 2024 meeting: Dame Anastasia Ngozi Nzeta from Enugu State, who was on holiday from Nigeria. She joined her big sister and cherished ESWA member, Mrs. Bene Obika, in participating in our discussions.

At the end of the meeting, Dame Anastasia shared her admiration, expressing how impressed she was with the warmth, organization, and care she witnessed. She graciously thanked us for “allowing me to share your joy,” and encouraged us to keep up the good work.

Not only did she offer words of praise and advise, but she also prayed and danced with us, reminding us of how blessed we are to be part of this long-standing, stable, and supportive organization – the Enugu State Women’s Association (ESWA).

As we danced with Dame Anastasia, we were reminded of the strength of our sisterhood and the joy that comes from being members of such a nurturing community. Let us continue to take pride in our achievements, spread the word, and share the joy of sisterhood with others.
